SEVEN MÖBELSTÜCKE
FRIEDRICH REICH - CARPENTER
By designing wooden objects the joiner Friedrich Reich and the designer Herbert Schultes became familiar. Friedrich Reich was in former times teacher for sports and mathematics before he discovered his love for the craft. Herbert Schultes was 15 years head of design in charge of Siemens AG. Beside this he designed 20 years system kitchens for the bulthaup company.
In discussion of the question: How much plastic can our nature get along with, we decided to make common things for example pieces of furniture completely from wood. Of course this is not new. Our intent is to develop a new actual language for wooden objects regarding modern digital producton methods independent from the oeconomical needs of large number of pieces.
The first collection resulted in a small table, a large table, a desk, a chair , two stools and a bread case. The single pieces of furniture are elements of a minimalistic scenario.
The character of this design range is the minimum of the thickness of material and the bevel joinings.
